Effect of M-QAM Modulation Technique for a Converged Network Infrastructure Radio over Fiber (RoF)

The objective of the research is to analyze, at simulation level, effect M-Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (M-QAM) technique, in downlink, for a converged Radio over Fiber (RoF) network infrastructure, implementing Ortho-gonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technique and Passive Optical Network architecture, with 10 Gbps capa-city (XG-PON). evaluation M-QAM modulation was done through pre-established methodology using optsim sof-tware model tests. In results research, increase order con-verged OFDM-RoF infrastructure allows represent more bits per symbol, however, it requires higher transmission power. conclusion derives pos-sibility developing robust XG-PON type, tech-nique, since efficiently uses available bandwidth.
